ICAO 053 Approach Procedural (APP)

Introduction:

The ICAO 053 Approach Procedural course is designed for ATCs focusing on non-radar approach control procedures. Trainees learn how to manage arriving and departing aircraft by applying procedural control methods, ensuring safe separation and efficient sequencing.

Course Aim:

The aim of the course is to equip Air Traffic Controllers (ATCs) with the expertise needed to manage aircraft operations in environments where radar surveillance is unavailable. Participants will:

Develop Procedural Skills, gain proficiency in applying standard separation minima and coordinating clearances based on procedural techniques.

Prepare for Approach Control, acquire the skills necessary to effectively handle approach control responsibilities, ensuring safe and efficient aircraft operations without radar support.
