ICAO 055 Area Procedural (ACP)

Description

Introduction:

The ICAO 055 Area Procedural course trains ATCs in managing en-route air traffic using procedural control techniques, ideal for regions where radar coverage is incomplete or unavailable. It focuses on ensuring aircraft safety through the application of time, altitude, and distance separations.

Course Aim:

The aim of the (ACP) Course is to prepare Air Traffic Controllers (ATCs) for procedural control in area control settings, where radar is not used.

Graduates will:

• Master Procedural Separation Standards: Gain a thorough understanding of procedural separation standards required for managing air traffic over extensive areas.
• Coordinate Efficiently: Develop the skills to coordinate and ensure safe and efficient air traffic flows using procedural methods.
• Handle Large-Scale Air Traffic: Be capable of managing flights across large geographical regions with precision and effectiveness, even without radar support.
